Description:
Cold-hardy and reliable 'Boyne' is an early season, upright, self-fruitful, thorny shrub with medium sized, sweet, flavorful, deep red raspberries in early summer. The berries are great for fresh eating, freezing, and preserves.
Trellising is a good idea to support raspberry canes. These are summer-bearing raspberries that produce fruit on second year canes (floricanes). In the fall of the 2nd year, prune canes that have fruited at ground level and thin others to approximately 12 canes per meter of your row. Cut off suckers which grow outside of rows or transplant to extend your row.
Uses:
Fresh, eating, freezing and jam.
Harvest:
Early harvest
Type:
Floricane
