'Cortland Nova Red'

A red strain of Cortland Apple  known for producing large sized fruit.  Often these apples that ripened in full sun will also have a purple blush on the top side of the fruit. Fruit is juicy, moderately sweet.

Early.  Late September to early October

Excellent for fresh eating and cooking. They are a terrific baking apple for pies, cobblers, and crisps. When sliced, Cortlands are a excellent for salads and cheese plates, as the flesh doesn't brown and discolor quickly.

Fuji, Golden Russet, Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, Jonathan, Yellow Transparent

White flowering crabapples are also good pollinisers for this variety.

For other varieties that will pollinate this variety we recommmend this 'Pollination Checker' from out friends at Orange Pippin Trees in the UK.
