'Granny Smith'

Description:

This variety was found by a housewife as a chance seedling in New South Wales, Australia in 1839.  It still one of the most largely produced apples in the world today.  Green skinned apple with bright white crunchy flesh.  All purpose apple. Stores for long periods.

 

Uses:

Eating, cooking, salads, sauce, drying and cider. A favorite for Waldorf salad.

 

Harvest:

Late, October

 

Pollinators: Akane, Cortland, Gala, Honeycrisp, McIntosh, Yellow Transparent
