Novamac

Description:

Novamac apples are the result of a breeding program at the Kentville Research and Development Centre in Nova Scotia and introduced in 1978.

Novamac have good disease resistance. This apple is tangy but also has lots of sweetness.  Stores reasonably well.

 

Uses:

This apple is great for snacks, salads and especially baking in pies.

 

Harvest:

Mid season (earlier than standard Macintosh)

 

Pollinators: 

Golden Delicious, Gala, Frequin Rouge, Ginger Gold, Granny Smith, Honeycrisp
