'Pink Pearl'


Pink Pearl apple is named for the beauty hidden inside, its bright pink flesh. This apple was developed in 1944 by a northern California breeder. The flavor and texture is sweet tart and crunchy. The Pink Pearl is has been likened to Jolly Ranchers and Lifesavers due to the sweet candylike taste. Pink Pearl apples are rare and make a unique addition to any garden. Soft pink flowers makes this variety as ornamental as it is useful.



Mainly used for fresh eating. Also very good for 'pink' apple sauce.



Early to mid season, August



Golden Russet, McIntosh, Yellow Transparent


White flowering crabapples are also good pollinisers for this variety.
