Twisted branches are the main feature, providing unique architectural interest in any season, the red color of the branches intensifies during fall and winter.
Lance-shaped, pale green leaves that are also slightly curled, turning golden in autumn.
Yellow catkins appear in early spring before the leaves, attracting bees.
Young stems are yellow-orange, deepening to red as they mature and become more intense in colder weather.
Excellent for winter gardens, focal points, wet areas, and for cutting stems for creative floral designs.

Can grow as a small, cascading tree or large shrub, best kept small by pruning.
